  1. Purpose of Position

Under immediate supervision, has general responsibility for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of home care workers (aka Caregivers) and office operations.  The primary goals of the In Home Care (IHC) Supervisor Trainee includes the scheduling of client services in an appropriate and timely manner, orientation and obtaining client authorization of home care services before implementation, and the maintenance of regular contact with clients to insure superior service delivery and response to client needs and desires relative to client home care plan of care (service plan). 

  1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  2. Supervising and coordinating the daily activities of home care workers and office staff:
  3. Schedule/assign home care workers to clients;
  4. Supervise home care workers and office staff;
  5. Complete home care worker and office staff evaluations according to organizational policy;
  6. Schedule and conduct client orientation according to organizational policies and procedures;
  7. Assist in developing, planning and conducting orientation and training programs for home care workers and office staff. Ensure required training documentation is kept current;
  8. Conduct home care workers' and office staff meetings;
  9. Maintain a standby name list for available substitute home care workers;
  10. Respond/resolve client, home care worker and office staff complaints and issues;
  11. Processes disciplinary action where appropriate in conjunction with Human Resources;
  12. Process home care workers' electronic timekeeping for payroll in a timely manner;
  13. Maintains personnel records for home care workers and office staff according to organizational policies; and
  14. Reports, investigates and completes required documentation for workplace accidents in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

 Scheduling and maintaining of home care services to clients:

  1. Make emergency arrangements for clients to include notifying AAA Case Manager;
  2. Respond to family and/or consumer, clients and community complaints;
  3. Report all unusual occurrences regarding client care to Regional Manager;
  4. Correspond/communicate as necessary with DSHS Case Management and clients;
  5. Computerize all necessary client data in a timely manner;
  6. Manage and keep current client case files, documenting all information regarding

      client care on daily manner as appropriate;

  1. Conduct home visits and telephone contacts to clients according to organizational

      policies and procedures; and

  1. Conduct and report annual client and case management satisfaction surveys.

 Caseload & Evaluation (for Supervisor in Training)

  1. A minimum of 1600 authorized hours to be assigned within 30 days of hire date.
  2. Regional Manager will set goals for served hours for 3, 6, 9 &12 months. Regional Manager will conduct a written review of performance to goals at each 3 month mark to be included in employee's personnel file.
  3. Should receive majority of new referrals to quickly increase authorized hours.
  4. Regional Manager will conduct performance evaluation at 80th day from hire date to determine becoming a regular employee of KWA at 90 days.
  5. Once caseload reaches 4,500 served hours for three months consecutively, or on average for six months, an increase will be considered to the minimum salary range of supervisor. Increase above the minimum salary is on a case-by-case basis. The individual will be promoted to Supervisor and eligible for a year-end bonus. 
  1. Secondary Position Tasks
  2. Advocate/outreach/recruit clients for home care services.
  3. Represent KWA internally and externally on committees and work groups.
  4. Where applicable, liaison to community agencies.
  5. Attend required trainings and meetings.
  6. Have company provided cell phone with them at all times to address emergent client/ and/or home care aide issues requiring immediate attention. 
  1. Position Requirements and Qualifications
  • Must pass criminal history and reference checks;
  • Valid/current driver's license and auto insurance is required;
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good time management and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, WORD, etc.;
  • Ability to work with people of diversity;
  • Bilingual in Korean, as office needs dictate. 
  • Educational Level

High school diploma, GED or foreign equivalent. Some college preferred.

3.2      Experience

  1. Demonstrated ability to supervise staff.
  2. Experience or on-the-job training in providing services to the elderly and/or disabled preferred.

  29. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
  30. Mid-range vision:
  31. Clarity of vision at distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet.
  32. Far-range vision:
  33. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
