  1. Purpose of Position

Reporting to the Finance Supervisor the Accounts Receivable person is responsible for collecting receivables from clients, billing and reducing the past due receivables. The Accounts Receivable/Collections person is responsible for managing collections efforts on all accounts receivable (AR) based on established aging requirements, and provides regular reports to management detailing collection efforts and key issues, as well as identifying high risk accounts.

  1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review AR aging report and provide monthly report of past due accounts and actions to collect;
  • Make appropriate collections calls at established time frame;
  • Sends appropriate correspondences at correct times and intervals to include sending statements when needed;
  • Provide customers with reconciliations of their accounts, invoice copies, etc. to satisfy the customer and to maintain proper account records;
  • Identify trouble customers and take appropriate actions towards those customers;
  • Help maintain customer database, this may involve address updates, ensuring that all updates are communicated to correct individual for updating and/or completion of update themselves;
  • May also be asked to provide specific reporting to Director of Finance, Program Managers, Management, etc. on accounts that have aged past specified due dates, or may be asked to provide statistics, pay history, current status of an account at any time;
  • Answering and responding to incoming AR phone calls for a specific time of day or for an entire day with proper backup from account information;
  • Ensure credit notes are applied appropriately and correctly to customer accounts;
  • Occasional in-home visits with clients to discuss account;
  • Assist with Provider One billing;
  • Assist with reconciling over serviced hours;
  • Balance AR accounts accurately every month;
  • Attend training as required; and
  • Fill in on front desk per schedule.
  1. Position Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Satisfactorily pass criminal history & reference checks;
  • Current driver's license, auto insurance & reliable transportation for client in-home visits;
  • Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal;
  • Ability to relentlessly follow up on aged accounts in a highly professional manner;
  • Ability to analyze aged AR reports and logically assess accounts at risk;
  • Ability to prioritize work and systematically pursue collections in a logical manner;
  • Excellent follow up skills;
  • Analytical with strong attention to detail;
  • Professional, customer service oriented, and reliable;
  • Excellent time management skills for maximum results;
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environment;
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality;

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, e.g. Power Point, Excel, WORD, etc.
    • Educational Level:

AA degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred; and

High school diploma or GED required.

  • Experience in Related Field:

3 or more years Accounts Receivable & Collections experience preferred.

  8. Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, standing, reaching, twisting, grasping and driving.
  9. Work Schedule

Ability to work 40 hours per week and on call when necessary

  22. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
  23. Mid-range Vision:
  24. Clarity of vision at distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet.
  25. Far-range Vision:
  26. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
